Bobbin Lace School – Advent 25

This is a specialised online course offering a basic introduction to Slovak regional lace.

It is a loose continuation of the Bobbin Lace School courses.

It consists of a smart textbook in the form of double-sided A4 sheets, which are suitable for a binder with dividers. This contains QR codes that can be scanned to access video tutorials or additional information on a given topic. The chapters are clearly organised into sections. There is no online group for the course, but individual patterns will be presented in two sections: 'Basics of Bobbin Lace' and 'Multi-Pair Lace'.

You will learn individual lace patterns using the provided patterns and more complex ones using the video tutorials. To access the video tutorials, enter an email address ending in '@gmail.com' in the notes section. This email address cannot be changed for 24 months.

The electronic version of the teaching materials (PDF) will be available in the 'Files to download' folder after payment, with two new patterns added every two days — just like opening windows on an Advent calendar! The first patterns will be available on 30 November 2025. After 25 December 2025, the entire Smart Textbook will be available.

The patterns come with descriptions and explanations in nine languages.  The subtitles for the video tutorial are in English and Slovak. The texts are in the form of web pages that you can translate into your language using a browser.
